This page will update as necessary with our plans going forward. Please check regularly for reliable information.
We are currently in the process of acquiring our own full-time, permanent dojo premises, and tentatively aim to re-open indoor evening classes in early-mid October 2020.
This is the earliest and most viable option, as our old premises, and many other schools, community centres and churches will not allow any clubs or businesses to hire their premises until at least January 2021.
The new location can be found below, and is only 1 mile away from the old premises:
You will be invited to the new dojo first. A message will be sent to all students/parents with the new timetable, and rules/procedures to get you back as safely and quickly as we can. Please wait to hear from Sensei.
Unfortunately, you will have to wait until the schools invite us back, and each one will make judgements based on their risk assessments. Some will ask us back earlier than others.
We are estimating a return to these clubs between October 2020 – January 2021. Please contact your school with any questions or queries. Thank you for your continued patience and understanding.
We will not take on any new members until we have settled into the new premises, things are running smoothly and we feel that it is the right time to do so. Unfortunately, a date cannot be put on this yet.
If you are happy to wait, you can apply for our free trial waiting list, and we’ll keep you updated as and when we start to process this. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Some members have asked about the plan for grading (belt) tests. Usually, we would do these three times per year for evening members, and once a year for school members.
Unfortunately, grading tests cannot be done from home, due to the content required, space needed and more. We are creating a plan for certain students that have been continuing their training at home during lockdown, to grade when we return, with some potentially double grading for two belts in one test.
We would like to thank everyone for trying their best to continue with their Karate training during this difficult period. Some have gone absolutely out of their way to try and join in with everything that has been offered.
We’ve had weekly online zoom classes, YouTube content, social media challenges and outdoor classes that have all been so well supported. We are utterly grateful for your communication, hard work and support.
If you would like more information about our new full-time Dojo premises, and have the means to support us further by donating towards the costs of the centre opening, please click the button below for more information. Any amount received is humbly appreciated. See you all soon, and thank you again!
